Curriculum

Toddler & Begindergaten Summary
Quality care for children one and two years old requires a developmental care curriculum that helps children develop both their minds and bodies in a safe and healthy environment.  Our goal is to help toddlers feel good about themselves, learn social skills, and develop thinking skills.  Not only do we meet the toddler's basic needs for health and safety, we strive to meet all the needs of a growing child for love, guidance, and learning through developmental care.

The Toddler and the Begindergarten Curriculum covers four basic areas of  development:
  1. Listening and Talking - Building an understanding and enjoyment of new words.
  2. Physical Development - Using small and large muscles, thus working on eye-hand co-ordination and large motor skills.
  3. Creative Thinking - Developing independently through art projects, play with blocks, dramatic play, and music.
  4. Learning from the World Around Them - Early experiences indoors and outdoors enabling toddlers to use their senses (how they hear, see, smell, taste, and feel) to explore different shapes, sizes, and colors of things, thus setting up a basis for these ideas which will gradually come through out preschool years.
                 Preschool Summary
Shared experiences help children learn and grow.  The objectives of our curriculum for children three years old are: to give the child the opportunity to make new friends, to be with children his/her own age, and to foster self expression and creativity.

At Roulhac's Preschool, we focus on your child's skill level and strive to enhance physical, social, motor, language, cognitive, and self-help skills. These skills build confidence, self esteem, trust, fun learning, creativity, and intellectual expression.

The Preschool Curriculum lays the groundwork for our 4 year old Junior Kindergarten program.  Fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination are our top priority.

Within our nine month school year readiness program, we will incorporate the following:

       Junior Kindergarten Summary
